About the Opportunity
Data I/O Corporation (NASDAQ: DAIO) is the global leader in device programming and secure data provisioning — the essential last step before a chip becomes a connected, trusted product. Founded in 1972 and headquartered in Redmond, WA with offices in Munich and Shanghai, we're in the middle of a deliberate transformation shifting from capital equipment toward a services-led model including Programming-as-a-Service and provisioning at test, expanding our addressable market significantly.
We're looking for a Controller to own our accounting function and serve as a key financial partner to our CFO and executive team. This is a high-impact, high-visibility role. You'll touch everything from the monthly close and SEC filings to M&A due diligence and international consolidations, and work directly with senior leadership in a company where your contributions will be seen and recognized.
What You'll Do
- Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close and all financial reporting
- Prepare and review SEC filings (10-K, 10-Q) and manage the external audit relationship
- Maintain SOX compliance and internal controls
- Lead multi-entity consolidation across the US, Germany, and China
- Support M&A activity: financial due diligence, purchase accounting (ASC 805), and post-close integration
- Partner with the CFO on budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial analysis
- Coordinate with international finance leads on statutory compliance and intercompany transactions
- Drive process and systems improvements that scale with the business
- Support transition to Acumatica
- Leverage AI to support accounting activities
What We're Looking For
- 8–10 years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including meaningful public company exposure
- CPA required
- SEC reporting and SOX experience
- M&A experience: due diligence, purchase accounting, and integration
- Multi-entity, multi-currency consolidation experience
- International operations experience a plus (Germany and/or China ideal)
- Acumatica ERP familiarity a plus
- A hands-on leader who is equally comfortable in the details and in the boardroom
- Embraces AI and use of agents to increase capability and capacities
Compensation
Base salary $170,000–$205,000 depending on experience, plus annual performance bonus (10–15% target), and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with match, potential RSU awards and employee stock purchase plan.
Send your resume, a brief note about your background and how it aligns to the position requirements, and base compensation expectations to recruitment@dataio.com. Applications reviewed as received — posting closes May 15, 2026.
