Data I/O’s Commitment to Support Customers & Employees through COVID-19
Manufacturing open, and new COVID-19 special programs for customers announced
As the COVID-19 global pandemic continues to disrupt our daily lives, Data I/O is here to support our customers, partners and employees. As an essential part of the electronics supply chain Data I/O is committed to continue our manufacturing operations in Redmond, WA USA and Shanghai China, and our service operations near Munich Germany as we comply with local regulations.
Over the past seven weeks our global team has done an outstanding job adapting how we work to support our customers and partners while protecting the health and safety of our employees and their families.
On Feb. 8th, we re-opened our Shanghai office under special rules, and have been open continuously since then. On March 3rd, we implemented special policies for our Redmond WA office as well. We went to remote work for all Redmond WA knowledge workers and maintained necessary onsite manufacturing presence to support our customers. We also implemented strict hygiene guidelines for all employees and restricted plant access only to employees and contractors across all of our facilities worldwide. Our German office is also now following the same guidelines for their operation in accordance with local rules and regulations.
On Monday, March 23rd the Governor of Washington imposed new restrictions in his Executive Order. We have reviewed the order and plan to comply fully as an essential business. Our manufacturing facilities will remain open with core personnel onsite to service, build and ship products. All other employees will continue to work remotely. This process will allow us to meet our essential obligations and ensure our facility remains free of infection.
During this time, we have been in constant communication with our customers. They have alerted us to the fact we are essential to their supply chain with many current projects, as they re-tool their manufacturing lines to support the global COVID-19 response. I have approved special programs to support urgent COVID-19 projects in our customer base. Effective immediately, we will prioritize all COVID-19 related device supports, equipment orders and service, and waive any RUSH charges these orders. These products and services will receive the highest priority at standard pricing. Data I/O stands ready to support you in this time of crisis.
