Senior Software Engineering Manager

Location: Redmond, WA
Data I/O Corporation, the world's leader in providing manual and automated device programming systems and solutions for semiconductor devices, is headquartered in Redmond, WA with offices in Munich, Germany and Shanghai, China. We are currently looking for a full time Software Engineering Manager, in our Engineering Department, with the following responsibilities:
Lead development of Windows and embedded software applications for industrial device programming systems.
Lead software design and architecture team.
Code applications using C#, .NET, and WPF.
Lead small development teams, including accessing external resources.
Establish best practices for software development.
Participate in the business strategic planning process.
Participate in strategic marketing investigations.
Requirements: skills, knowledge, and education
BSCS (or related degree) preferred.
At least 10 years related industry experience developing MS Windows and embedded systems applications.
At least 3-5 years successful experience managing and leading software development teams.
Experienced Windows architecture developer.
Experience managing a globally dispersed team is preferred.
Ability to balance being a Manager and an individual contributor.
Prefer candidates with extensive experience working closely with external customers (some travel required).
Prefer candidates with experience taking ambiguous requirements through the definition process to the final product.
Prefer candidates with experience managing a development team using current s/w development best practices (i.e. Agile, Scrum). Having implemented an environment around these type of practices is a plus.
Knowledge of cloud computing applications is a plus.
Past experience creating individual technical development plans a plus.
Experience with Thick Clients / Desktop Applications / Web Services a plus.
Desire to participate in strategic planning process with the larger management team.
